A Necklace-Inspired Card

Last weekend, I went to the local 'Bloom' bazaar to give support to my fellow 'handmade-crafter' friends. I also bought some bargain price paper craft supplies for myself, and a pretty rose necklace for my sis-in-law's upcoming birthday.

Personally I love the necklace so much, and I thought it would be wonderful if I could make a birthday card that complements the necklace. And thus I constructed a tri-fold card, choosing brown and pink as my colour theme, and two quilled roses to complement the roses on the necklace. This is how my necklace-inspired card looks like standing next to the necklace:

I worked out the measurement for the Tri-fold card and cut using craft knife and metal ruler. I did the card first. The envelope was created just 2 days ago after the arrival of my MS scoring board and it sure eases the scoring and measurement process. I modified the envelope a bit so that it becomes 'box' to protect my quilled roses.

Close up of my roses. The center part is done using the spiral rose technique whereas the larger petals are done using a heart shape punch. I used textured light pink paper to give the roses a more realistic look. The 'bling' is to complement the gemstones/crystals on the necklace.

This is how it looks like when you open the card. I try to keep the embellishments minimal since I prefer CAS style.
And this is the view from the other side of the card.

Hopefully my sis-in-law will like the necklace as well as the card.^^
