Here's another special request by another customer, this time it's a birthday card with a quilled sheep. Again, it's something that I would not quill normally. Honestly, I think it's a lot harder than quilling a pig. I've seen Cheryl's and Diane Boden's lovely quilled sheep and I tried to come out with my own Lulu-style-sheep:
I hope mine doesn't look like a cow... Anyway, after quilling a pig and a sheep, I feel that animals are not easy to quill. Unlike flowers, animals are not symmetric and they are not made of geometry shapes. And the ratio of the coils for the animal to look 'right' is a challenging task, at least for me.
The next one is something simpler- quilled ladybugs that I experimented with. I made a popsicle bookmark with a quilled ladybug on it for my quilling demo giveaway last weekend. Then I decided to do a simple card using the remaining ladybug and added another smaller bug. I like the CAS look.

So cute sheep!!!
ReplyDeleteLulu....I think your sheep is very cute. I am happy to give inspiration anytime. I have sheep on the brain because I am doing a large order for an invitation. I am very comfortable with my design now but it is certainly a challenge to quill animals. I will share them when I am done
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see them!!
DeleteYour sheep is quite adorable indeed-- love candle he is holding!
