Flower Girls

The sunflower has always been one of my favourites. And I have a picture book in which its cover features a sunflower girl standing on top of a building which I like a lot. So when I started learning quilling, one pattern that I look for is sunflowers. I even bought a canvas (if you remembered in my earlier post) so that someday I could quill sunflowers on it. And that was the thought until I saw this quill pattern by Diane Crane
the Sunflower Girl!

So, I was experimenting this over last weekend and the results....
The girl doesn't have a face expression because of the big hole in the center of the coil (I don't know how to use a needle tool yet).
I sticked her onto an old frame which held a postcard of Ven. Master Hsing-Yun and four guidelines of Fo Guang people that inspire me a lot:

  • Offer others confidence
  • Offer others joy
  • Offer others hope
  • Offer others convenience
Another attempt with some slight modifications
